REVEREND VINCE ANDERSON - Keyboard - Born in Fresno, California, Vince moved to New York City in 1994 to study at Union Theological Seminary with the intention of becoming a Methodist minister. The Reverend lasted three months in seminary, before sensing a new direction to take his music and message to where the people were – into the bars and clubs. He promptly started holding weekly “services” in New York’s Lower East Side and in Williamsburg, Brooklyn; which have now been an NYC institution for over 20 years. In addition, he serves as a musician at two churches, Bushwick Abbey and Citylights Community. The Reverend calls his music, “Dirty Gospel”, a term reflecting both his musical influences and his theological perspective.
JALEEL BUNTON - Guitar - Jaleel Bunton is a New York City based multi-instrumentalist and member of famed indie rock band TV on the Radio. Jaleel has toured and recorded with many artists most notably The YYY’s, Cat Power, Bobby Womack, Adeline, and Mike Ladd.
“MOIST” PAULA HENDERSON - Saxophone - “Moist” Paula Henderson, so known for her turn of the century NYC instrumental rock band Moisturizer, answered The Reverend’s ad in the back of the Village Voice in 1996 and has been playing baritone saxophone with him weekly ever since. In between, she tours internationally - playing sax with Nick Waterhouse, Melvin Van Peebles, Burnt Sugar Arkestra and CW Stoneking. In NYC she continues to play regularly as a side artist with a variety of musical acts including the Binky Griptite Orchestra. She has also released 3 collections of her original electronic music. “Moist” Paula is also a professional astrologer.
DAVE “SMOOTA” SMITH - Trombone - Dave “Smoota” Smith tours the world with his erotically-charged solo show Smoota and leads the psychedelic instrumental band The Perfect Man. He has recorded and performed as a trombonist with TV On The Radio, Run The Jewels, Steven Tyler, Aaron Neville, Sufjan Stevens, Valerie June, Pretty Lights, Griz, Phish, Angelique Kidjo and many others. He was also in the house band of The Gong Show starring Mike Meyers on ABC.
RYAN SAWYER - Drums - San Antonio born, Brooklyn based musician and drummer, Ryan Sawyer learned his craft through his early exposure to not only rock and jazz, but the colloquial conjunto, zydeco, and punk rock music of his home town. At 19 he recorded the influential first At The Drive-In record. Ryan moved to New York in 1997 to further his interest in improvised music, where he has been leading a balanced life between composed and improvised performance. He has worked with such diverse names as Charles Gayle, Meshell Ndegeocello, Marshall Allen, Tara Jane O’Neil, EL-P, Rhys Chatham, TV on the Radio, Boredoms, Thurston Moore, Nik Zinner, Josephine Foster, Cass McCombs, Trevor Dunn, and Scarlet Johansson. Presently, Sawyer performs solo and with Gang Gang Dance, Nate Wooley’s Columbia Icefield and Seven Story Mountain.
DANIEL FABRICATORE - Bass - Daniel Fabricatore is a New Jersey born bassist, and composer. Filled with meaning and joy while playing either the electric or acoustic bass, Dan is at home in a rhythm section. After receiving his Bachelor of Music from William Paterson University, he moved to New York City where for two decades he contributed his steadfast voice to ensembles of widely varying styles, including Drye & Drye, Meah Pace, Nick Waterhouse, The Eri Yamamoto Trio, The Binky Griptite Orchestra, Mike McGinnis +9, Orion, Rudy Linka, Stew and the Negro Problem, Federico Ughi, Twelve 20 Six. Recently he has relocated to Dayton, Ohio, and returns often to NYC.
